I have always loved lions, from my Leo mom to Aslan from The Chronicles of Narnia. This one was a product of wanting another more boldly colored lion than "Aslan." I actually started from a canvas print of Aslan and painted entirely over it. But, since I wanted basically the same face, it worked well as a guide/sketch!
